Murray Edwards College
Formerly known as New Hall, Murray Edwards knows fans well. Over the last twenty five years, over a dozen conventions have trodden these hallowed halls. New Hall (we're traditionalists) is a modern college about a mile from the city centre, and being a women's college is well supplied with modern amenities such a bathrooms. For many years, New Hall's bar also hosted the Cambridge University Science Fiction Society's weekly social meetings.
Alumni include Karen Kelly (of this humble parish), fantasy author Kari Sperring, and the White Witch of Narnia (well alright, Tilda Swinton).
Rooms are available in college at the rate of £63.75 per night en-suite or £43.75 per night with shared facilities for single rooms, or £97 per night en-suite or £65.75 per night with shared facilities for twin rooms. Please use the form (electronic or paper) on the membership page to let us know what you want. Please note that there are no double rooms. Why would nice gels like New Hall's students need double beds?
Lunch and dinner will be available in the Dome (New Hall's iconic cafeteria), and will be on a cash basis. At previous cons this has gone down well in all senses. Rolls and sandwiches for the less hungry will also be available from the bar.
Ah yes, the bar. The main college bar will be getting a range of real ales in especially for the convention, and fans are encouraged to make liberal of this facility. Otherwise the committee will have to sup on any beer left over, and that would never do.
